The City of Ammon Building Department is hiring a Permit Technician. Starting wage $11 – $14/hr. The position may be either one full-time position with benefits or two part-time positions. This position requires a self-starting, organized, and well-mannered individual who can efficiently complete a variety of job tasks related to Building Department and permitting functions that include responsibilities such as reviewing permit applications to ensure they are complete, scheduling and tracking inspections, issuing permits, collecting fees, keeping accurate records, issuing reports, and offer excellent customer service.  The Permit Technician is required to acquire and maintain current knowledge of the content of ordinances and matters affecting the city, and perform other tasks as assigned by the Building Official. Permit Technician Certification through the International Code Council is preferred.

The Ammon Fire Department accepting applications for Custodian/Administrative Assistant. Working three days per week, five hours per day for a total of fifteen hours per week, $10 – $11/hour depending on experience. The individual will clean the fire station and perform administrative responsibilities. The Ammon Fire Department is accepting applications for Resident Firefighters. The Resident Firefighter Program provides a unique opportunity as well as free room and living expenses. Residents are trained as Firefighter/EMTs and given the responsibilities of responding with fire apparatus to emergency scenes, EMS calls and station detail duties. No prior training is needed to apply, but will be considered.
