The City of Ammon is accepting applications for a Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer.

The principal functions of this position are to provide animal control, welfare, and safety services and to enforce City animal licensing and control and other City ordinances. This position requires effective public relations and communications skills. This employee performs as a one-person department. The work is performed under the general direction of the City Administrator. The principal duties are performed outdoors and may include working in adverse weather conditions, and exposure to domestic and wild animals. The Code Enforcement Officer prepares the annual department budget, coordinates payments to Bonneville County Sheriff’s Department, works with local law enforcement personnel, and monitors contracts for the animal shelter, and other management responsibilities.

Code enforcement experience in a municipality is preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this job. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass background check required for peace officers.

The City of Ammon Parks & Recreation Department is accepting applications for Seasonal Maintenance Workers. The rate of pay is $9.00/hr. The position will start in April and go thru early fall, depending on weather. Please fill out the General Employment Application and submit it at the City Building, 2135 S Ammon Road before the deadline of April 1, 2019. Idaho law requires an individual to be at least 17 years old to operate a City vehicle. The successful applicant will be required to hold a valid driver’s license and able to operate a City vehicle.

The City of Ammon Parks & Recreation Department is accepting applications for Concession Staff for the Ammon Snack Shack located in McCowin Park next to the swim pool and Ammon Splash Zone. The rate of pay is $8.00 – $9.00/hr. depending on experience. The Ammon Snack Shack is open June – August. The Ammon City Pool is accepting applications for Lifeguards, Head Lifeguards, and Cashiers for the Ammon Pool. Lifeguards and cashiers will start at the end of May/beginning of June. The Ammon Pool is outdoors and is open June 1 – August 25. The rate of pay is $8.00 – $10.00/hr. depending on experience. Please fill out the Pool Employment Application and submit it at the City Building, 2135 S Ammon Road before the deadline of April 19, 2019. Applicants must be at least 16 years old to apply.

The City of Ammon Parks & Recreation Department is accepting applications for Umpires for the City of Ammon T-Ball/Softball league. The pay will vary based on experience. The season begins June 3rd and goes through June 27th with games being played Mondays through Thursdays. The Ammon Fire Department is accepting applications for Resident Firefighters. The Resident Firefighter Program provides a unique opportunity as well as free room and living expenses. Residents are trained as Firefighter/EMTs and given the responsibilities of responding with fire apparatus to emergency scenes, EMS calls and station detail duties. No prior training is needed to apply, but will be considered.
